What if I've never shot a gun before? Can I still come out? And will you help me get started?
Don't worry, we are here to help! We will happily show you how to operate the gun, make sure you have a full understanding of our safety rules, and give you a few pointers to help you break some clays!
What kind of guns can I use?
We allow 12 gauge, 20 gauge, .410, 16 gauge, or 28 gauge shotguns. Semi-Automatic, Over and Unders, Side by Sides, and Pump Action shotguns are all welcome. Stocks must have a shoulder mount, and barrels must be of legal length. Pistols are allowed on pistol range only.
What kind of ammo can I use?
For shotgun, shot sizes allowed are 7.5, 8, and 9. Shells must be low brass game or sporting clays load. No high brass is allowed.
Do you rent shotguns?
Yes! We have a variety of 12, 20 and 28 gauge shotguns available. Call for more details and specifics.
Can we buy ammo there?
Yes we have a variety of ammo for shotgun and pistol. Our house brand is Fiocchi, but we also carry AA, Federal, and Clever.
Can my child drive a golf cart?
Due to insurance policies, no child under the age of 16 is allowed to operate a golf cart.
Do you have shooting lessons there?
Yes! We have several shooting instructors available for lessons. Go to our accommodations page and check under shooting lessons for more information.
Can we bring a large group out for a party?
Yes! We have a covered pavilion that you are welcome to use for your group (We recommend making a reservation to guarantee availability). Food trucks are welcome for your group or you are more than welcome to bring your own food and use our grills.
Can I bring my rifle or handgun?
Yes! Rifles and handguns are welcome, but only for use on the pistol range. No rifles or handguns are permitted on anywhere else of the premises. Please check out our pistol range page, for more information on the pistol range.
Do I have to be a member to shoot?
No, FishHawk Sporting Clays is open to the public. Memberships provide customers with discounts on targets and merchandise.
Is there a minimum age limit to shoot?
No, we are a family friendly club. As long as there is a parent or guardian present, children are welcome!
Can we come out to just watch our friends or family shoot?
Absolutely, anywho who is on the range must fill out our waiver form, agree to our club rules, and wear eye and ear protection on the range at all times.
Can I shoot by myself?
Yes, our shooting stations are equipped with delay settings that allow you to shoot alone.
